This is my thirteenth year in education.  After graduating from the University of Northern Iowa in 1997 with a degree in Early Childhood Education and a degree in Elementary Education, I taught ten years in Putnam City.  I began my career at D.D. Kirkland Elementary where I taught third and fourth grades for seven years, and then I taught fifth grade for three years at Coronado Heights Elementary.

I was fortunate to join the Rose Union Staff in 2009 and am looking forward to continuing my career in education at Rose Union as the fifth grade Language Arts teacher in addition to teaching a section of math.  We have a wonderful team of teachers to prepare Rose Union’s fifth graders to make a successful transition into middle school.

I am happily married to my husband, Jerrod, who is a system engineer for Aruba Networks.  We are very blessed to have a beautiful daughter named Annabelle who will be in third grade here at Rose Union this year.  In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, and exercising.  Living in Deer Creek makes me not only a teacher who wants the best for Rose Union, but it also makes me a parent who wants the best for Rose Union.  I am very anxious to help create a place where children will happily anticipate each new day of learning.  Let’s have a fabulous year!
