Jordan Stephens
Second Grade
I am delighted to have the
opportunity to work with your child and look forward to having a very exciting
year. I’d like to take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about myself.
I grew up in Oklahoma City and
attended Putnam City Schools. It was there that I realized I wanted to be a
teacher. My second grade teacher, Mrs. Bullard, was an amazing educator and,
although I didn’t realize it at the time, she was also quite an inspiration.
She was the one teacher who had a lasting impression on me which, in turn, led
to my love for school and education.
I graduated from the
University of Central Oklahoma in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary
Education. As a result of my education at UCO and numerous continuing
professional education experiences, I am equipped with the knowledge and
expertise to teach my students, not only the curriculum, but life skills as
well. Our class is a learning environment that is flexible and caters to many
different learning styles and aptitudes to ensure success for all students. It
is my goal to make sure my students can take away a positive learning experience
much in the way I did with my second grade teacher. When students like coming
to school, they arrive prepared and ready to learn.
My husband, Derek and I were
married in June of 2008 and recently moved to Edmond. We have four “kids,” our
three Pugs named Callie, Daphnee and Spike and a Boxer named Bruno. I love to
travel, read, take the doggies for walks and spend time with family and friends.
It’s a privilege to teach
young minds, and I am honored to have the opportunity to make a difference in
your child’s life. I plan on having a wonderful year with you and your student!
