DD PK I am the PreK – DD teacher
and my students are three, four, and five year
olds. My career in Special Education began in India
at the Center for Special Education in 1988. In
1990, I left my home country to come here in order
to pursue higher education. I graduated with Honors
from the University of Central Oklahoma with a
Master of Education degree in Special Education in
1992. Prior to this, I majored with two
undergraduate degrees, namely, Bachelor of Laws and
Bachelor of Science from the University of Madras.
I worked as the Lead teacher at
Special Care, Inc. in Oklahoma City for five years,
teaching children with mild/moderate and
severe/profound disabilities in an inclusive
setting. My teaching experience further includes a
strong background in early childhood. This is my
third year teaching at Deer Creek Public Schools.
I have two beautiful daughters.
Aishwarya is 11 years old, and Aksharaa is 9 years
old. They both attend Westminster School. My
husband Shri works for NCI as the Director of Oracle
Systems. My husband and I are avid painters and
share an interest in music, poetry and art.
One of my passions in life is
teaching children of varying ages and abilities. I
truly believe that I am fortunate to pursue a career
that offers so much joy, challenges, and rewards.
