Edwards
Principal
I
began my career as an educator in 1995 after
graduating from The University of Central Oklahoma
with a degree in Early Childhood Education. My
previous teaching experience includes kindergarten,
first, and second grades in both private and public
schools.
In 2000, I served as an assessor for the National
Board of Professional Teaching Standards. I was
accepted to the Oklahoma Leadership Class of 2000 by
the Oklahoma Commission for Teacher Preparation and
received a scholarship for the completion of the
National Board process. I completed the process and
became a National Board Certified teacher in 2001.
I continue to volunteer as a mentor to National
Board candidates throughout the state of Oklahoma.
I
returned to The University of Central Oklahoma in
2003 to complete my master’s degree in Education
Administration. Before becoming the principal at
Rose Union Elementary, I served as the assistant
principal at Cross Timbers Elementary School in
Edmond.
My husband, James Edwards, is also an educator. He
is an anatomy teacher and he coaches football and
track at Edmond Santa Fe High School. Together we
share two wonderful children, Peyton, who is a
student at Deer Creek Middle School and Jace, who is
a Rose Union Elementary School student. The Deer
Creek community has been our “extended family” for
several years now. We cherish the families and
schools that make Deer Creek such a great place to
educate, grow, and nurture children.
It is truly a privilege to serve as the principal of
Rose Union Elementary School and to have the
opportunity to make a difference in the lives of
Deer Creek kids! |
