First Grade My
name is Jenna Foster and I am so proud and excited
to be a part of such an exceptional and progressive
group of teachers while teaching first grade here at
Rose Union Elementary. I am in a looping position,
which means that I will teach 1st grade this year
and then move up with my class to 2nd grade next
year. Last year, I taught 2nd grade here at Rose
Union. Prior to that, I taught 2nd grade at Deer
Creek Elementary, 1st grade for five years at Jenks
Southeast Elementary in Tulsa, 3rd grade at Mills
Elementary in Owasso, and 2nd grade at Madison
Elementary in Norman. I graduated from the
University of Oklahoma with a degree in Elementary
Education. I am currently working towards obtaining
my Masters degree from UCO in Educational
Administration.
I have wanted to
be a teacher for as long as I can remember. Before I
was school-age, I used to line my stuffed animals up
so that I could play "animal school". While in
elementary school, I vividly remember trying to run
a classroom out of my bedroom for the neighborhood
children while creating my own library check out
system so that they could check out books in an
organized fashion. I guess you could say that
teaching is something I was born to do!
I enjoy spending time with my
husband, Rand, who works in the treasury department
at Midland Financial, which is the parent company of
MidFirst Bank, in Oklahoma City. Rand and I have a
son, Blake, who will be one year old in November.
We also have two dogs, a maltese named Carly and a
schnauzer named Maddie. I enjoy traveling,
shopping, reading, arts and craft activities, being
with friends, and cheering on the OU Sooners during
sporting events. |
