Stephanie Janz
Second Grade

I have been in Deer Creek since 2004 and prior to that time, I taught in Oklahoma City for nine years.  My experience ranges from Pre-Kindergarten through Second grade. I received my undergraduate and graduate degrees from UCO. I really enjoy teaching young students because they are so eager to learn.

In 2004, I became a National Board Certified teacher. This year long process was rigorous and entailed me looking at how I teach and what I can do to help every student succeed.  One of my passions with students is writing.  I am involved in the Oklahoma Writing Project and work with teachers throughout the state helping improve student writing skills.

My husband, Phil and I have three grown children, Brittanie, Chris and Amanda.  We also have two beautiful grandgirls, Koren and Abby and two handsome grandsons, Sheldon and Avery. The “baby” of our family is a beagle named, Maggie.

I am looking forward to a terrific year at Rose Union.  There are so many exciting new ideas and programs and I feel honored to be a part of something wonderful.  RU Ready? I AM!
