My name is Kali
Martin and I am so grateful to be teaching
at Rose Union
Elementary School. I grew up
in Edmond,
Oklahoma and attended Edmond North
High School. I graduated
from Oklahoma State
University with a Bachelor of Science
degree in Early Childhood Education.
I have a
wonderful family and a younger sister, Tara,
who will be a sophomore at the University of Oklahoma. Yes, we have a house divided! I
became engaged on New Years Eve 2006 and am
planning a wedding for June 2009. My
fiancé, Josh, is currently attending
graduate school at the University of Arkansas
in Fayetteville.
I student taught
for two semesters before graduating from Oklahoma
State University; one semester in a first grade
classroom at Rose Union. I loved Rose Union
and the Deer Creek school district so much
that I couldn’t imagine myself anywhere
else! Children are truly my passion and I
am so thankful to be working in such an
amazing school alongside an incredible group
of teachers and staff, as well as wonderful
and supportive Deer Creek families!
I believe that
children learn best when they can relate
their learning experiences to their life and
when they feel comfortable and confident
taking risks as learners. I feel it is
important to build a classroom community in
which all students are engaged and feel safe
working together to solve problems and learn
from one other. I consider it a great
privilege to be entrusted with the
responsibility to teach this bright and
beautiful group of young children.
