Kim McLemore
Student Resources

Hello, my name is Kim McLemore.  I was born and raised in Oklahoma City.  I have been married to John for 16 years and have two awesome antlers, Kacy, a 7th grader at Deer Creek Middle School and Jake, a 5th grader here at Rose Union.  This will be my fourth year teaching in the Deer Creek school district; however, I’m what you might call a “late bloomer.”  I didn’t really figure out what I wanted to do when I grew up until after I had children.  Let me explain.

I graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor’s in Marketing.  I met and married my husband many years later, had my daughter and moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico.  My son was born a year later and shortly after that, I began exploring educational options for my daughter.  I had taught several Sunday school classes and coached little league sports so I somehow always gravitated toward working with children.  Being the daughter of a retired educator, I realized that teaching was really a calling for me.  My husband was transferred to Enid, Oklahoma and it was there that I began my journey to achieve my second degree, which was Elementary Education, from Northwestern Oklahoma State University.   Going back to school with two little ones was one of the most difficult things I’ve ever done but it was so–o-o worth it!  I am certified to teach regular education as well as students with special needs.

After school, you will find me cheering on my son or daughter in their sports activities or at church on Wednesday nights, leading small groups of 5thand 6th grade girls.   When I have spare time, I enjoy gardening, shopping, watching old classic movies or spending time with my family doing just about anything.

I’m looking forward to another FABULOUS year at Rose Union!
