Julie
Rickner
Fourth Grade
Hi, my name is Julie Rickner. I am very excited to
be joining the team at Rose Union as a fourth grade
teacher. Southern Nazarene University is where I
graduated from in 1991 with my bachelors in
Elementary Education. After graduation I taught at
Southern Nazarene University's School for Children
while working on my masters. I graduated with my
masters in Early Childhood in 1993. Upon completion
of my masters I continued my teaching career in the
Putnam City School district as a fifth grade
teacher.
After having my first child I decided to stay home
and raise my children. I am now looking forward to
teaching again in the classroom. Last year I spent a
lot of time in the school volunteering and was so
impressed with the leadership, teachers and all
around atmosphere of the school. I knew that Rose
Union was where I wanted to be!
My husband and I met our freshman year in college
and married after our sophomore year. We have been
married for eighteen years and have four children.
Makenna is in the eighth grade at Deer Creek Middle
School. My other children will be here at Rose Union
with me. Mitchell in the fifth, Maya the first, and
Matthew in kindergarten. Our family is glad to be
back in Oklahoma with all of our family. We have
spent many years out of state. We were in Ohio where
my husband attended medical school. After his
residency he became active duty army and we were
stationed at Ft. Bragg in Fayetteville North
Carolina. We have had many opportunities to grow
close as our unit of six and the kids are very proud
of their dad and how he served our country in our
present state of conflict.
I am looking forward to getting to know each of my
students and their parents as we partner together
this year in fourth grade. |
