Second Grade

Welcome to Second Grade!

This marks my thirteenth year to shape and educate young children. I have recently finished my last course for my master’s degree in Educational Psychology and will work on my thesis soon. This year, I am very proud to be working on obtaining National Board Certification status for teachers. I look forward to the many benefits this process will bring to me personally and professionally.

I am thrilled to be teaching many of my students again for a second year thanks to the looping process. The looping process is something I strongly believe in as an educator. I am so happy to have this opportunity with my students and families. I truly am blessed to experience what few teachers ever get to in their career…the opportunity to really watch children grow and excel over the course of time. Usually we teach children and prepare them for someone else to pick up where we leave off at the end of each year. This year, I am the lucky recipient of last years’ hard work! I couldn’t be more pleased, proud, and amazed by this group of children. They are hard workers who are eager to know what will be unfolding for them this year in second grade.

Second grade will prove to be a great journey of growth and development for your children this year. It will require their hard work, responsibility, and best efforts. Being the great class of children they are, I know they will rise to the occasion. My goal is to build a great sense of community for myself, my students, and my families this year.
