Second Grade Welcome Second
Grade Stars!
I look forward to looping this
year with my class and teaching new units to my
students. I have the exciting opportunity to
continue watching your children grow. Thank you for
sharing your children with me.
I have taught in Deer Creek
since 2002. This year will be my eleventh year to
teach. Previous Oklahoma schools that I’ve taught
in are Shidler and Maud. I taught Kindergarten and
Pre-Kindergarten from 1997-2002. While teaching at
Shidler, I was honored by my fellow teachers by
being voted district teacher of the year 1999-2000.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Early
Childhood and Elementary education from Southwestern
Oklahoma State University in Weatherford. Go
Bulldogs!
Throughout the year, I continue
my education by attending teacher workshops.
Workshops that I’ve attended are Guided Reading,
Great Expectations, Teaching with the Brain in Mind,
Schools Attuned, Literacy First, and most recently a
Teacher Reading Academy for first and second grade.
I grew up in Weatherford, OK.
I have three sisters and come from a background of
educators. My parents both teach in the Weatherford
public school system. In the summer of 2005, I
married Doug Wittrock. My husband graduated from
Oklahoma State University and is a banker at
Community National Bank in Okarche. He also enjoys
raising cattle on the family farm.
Outside of school, I enjoy
photography/scrapbooking, gardening, watching the
food network, cooking, playing with our dog, Hogan,
and traveling with my husband.
I love teaching at Rose Union and
look forward to another “Outstanding” year!
